Anorectal Conditions Overview

There are a number of conditions effecting the anorectal region. This anatomically covers any condition arising within the perianal tissues (around the anus), the anal verge, the anal canal itself (which varies in length from between 2-4cm) and the anorectal junction which once again varies in location. Common conditions affecting this area include; Haemorrhoids, Fissures, Perianal abscess, Fistulae, Perianal Haematoma, and problems with the sphincter complex leading typically to incontinence.
